The transformation of this 1 bedroom + Study condo in one of Singapore's most prestigious suburbs sought to maximize the clients investment and capitalize on its exclusive address by maximizing the functionality of the space with a modern, minimal yet versatile, functional and livable interior that was sympathetic to the overall style of the condo development and complimentary to its corporate resident.
With flooring, lighting and wall treatments carried out on site by the Jeda team, all furniture and fixed joinery elements were custom designed and prefabricated off site in the Jeda factories ensuring the highest quality in both finish and functionality, allowing the entire onsite and installation works to be completed in a 3 day window.
Design Features
To create maximum flexibility for the additional study area, Jeda customized their "Switch" transformable credenza unit to fit the space and style of the project.
The unit, which provides a credenza and storage unit in its closed position, a stylish workstation in its secondary position, and a full sized single or day bed in its third open position, enables the space to be utilized as either a casual reading or study room, whilst providing additional sleeping for occasional guests when required
Jeda utilized their Inline joinery display system to create a feature storage and display unit in the main entry which can not only be reconfigured to suit the clients changing storage needs by adding or relocating a mix of shelving and drawer components, but with the addition of the concealed dining table and folding chair storage unit, provides a small dining room experience in the kitchen area that can be easily folded away when not in use to maximize space in the main thoroughfare
With space at a premium, particularly in the lounge area, Jeda used their custom designed Metro sofa.
This, with multiple built in storage units for remotes, magazines and other soft furnishing storage requirements, reduced the need for additional shelving or coffee tables that would otherwise have taken up valuable living space.
The custom divisional wall to the kitchen area not only created a fridge alcove and a feeling of depth within the space with its black reflective glass finish, but with a concealed ironing surface, created additional flexibility within the "laundry" area of the condo
